Border Kitty Rescue Division was created under Border Collie Rescue & Rehab-501 (c)(3) to save orphaned kittens in Texas. Our mission is to rescue kittens, provide them with medical care and, once stable, provide basic training, enrichment and socialization. All our kittens will be raised by Border Collies, Aussies and/or fabulous mixes, so the kittens will be comfortable with dogs in general. Once you adopt from us, you will be part of our BCRRT family. We believe in a lifetime commitment and friendship. Our volunteers will stay in touch with all adopters so that we can continue supporting and sharing updates.
We rescue orphaned kittens that are too young to be in a shelter and ones that are sick. We treat medical issues in our foster home with our vet's guidance. We also socialize them, provide enrichment, and basic training. All our available kittens are dewormed, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, FELV/FIV tested, and microchipped prior to adoption. Our kittens must be at least 4lbs to be spayed/neutered. We don't require pair adoptions, unless the kittens are bonded. However, we prioritize applicants interested in multiple kittens. In some cases, we do out-of-state adoption. We ask all adopters to come to their foster home to meet, greet, and pick up the kittens where the kittens are more comfortable. To avoid the added stress, we do not ship our kittens. Applications are not considered on a first come first basis, but based on match.
Border Kitty Rescue relies on donations and volunteers to save kittens. Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of care we provide for each kitten. As a non-profit/volunteer based organization, we are able to save more kittens and provide quality care thanks to the generous support from our community!
